Birds in Canberra

I started this website, which is mainly a blog, back in July 2018 as a place to upload the bird photographs I was taking as part of my new hobby. My original description of this site was:

“My wife thinks I am having a mid-life crisis, maybe I am but I have rediscovered my interest in birds as I approach my twilight years. I thought I would start a blog to share some of my pictures of these wonderful creatures as well as some words I may write occasionally to accompany the images. While this blog is mainly focussed on Canberra’s birdlife I will post other related content as well. I hope you enjoy this blog.”

Well, my wife is still sure I am having a mid-life crisis and I am still enjoying this hobby. I have expanded from purely bird photography because I enjoy photographing all wildlife and nature. I enjoy macro photography and I am also enjoying landscape photography of the natural scenes I see.

The other joy I am finding is the opportunity to wander around Canberra and really look at things as I decide if I should take a photograph. I am seeing more of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory than I ever had, and really finding some special places of natural beauty that I enjoy returning to.

In each post I express my hope that you enjoy the photos that you will look at and I really mean that. I know that for all of us time can be very precious and if you take the time to look at my photographs I really hope that you find your time was worth it and you leave this site enriched by the enjoyment of seeing something that you liked.
